  1. bölümde, açılış kısmında incelenen ve altın yaldızlı gül resimleri, dekoratif hat panelleri ile dikkat çeken Mecmu‘a-i Acâib (Acâibü’l-Mahlûkât) nüshası mercek altına alınmıştır. Oturumun ikinci ve en çarpıcı kısmında ise Bodleian Kütüphanesi’nde muhafaza edilen Ali Şîr Nevâî’ye ait bir eser üzerindeki katalog hatası tahlil edilmiştir.

Bodleian kataloğunda 1553 miladi (960 hicri) olarak verilen tarihin aslında eser tarihlendirmesi değil, müstensih Sultan Mesud tarafından gerçekleştirilen istinsah tarihi olduğu; eserin asıl telif tarihinin ise Nevâî’nin kendi yazdığı kolofon beyitlerinde geçen 888 hicri (~1483) yılı olduğu kesin olarak kanıtlanmıştır. Sultan Hüseyn Bayqıra’ya sunulan bu abidümser eserin kronolojik tashihi, yazma eser tenkidi açısından mühim bir ilmi başarıdır.

Bu yönüyle oturum, hem kodikoloji hem de Çağatay filolojisi adına çığır açıcı bir mahiyet arz etmiştir.
